Speaking of what I know for certain, contemporarily, in the West, we are surrounded and suffused within nearly uncountable cults.
The following is a list of those I find most easily explainable/egregious.
### Certainty
Many Westerners, if not the extreme majority, live in a perpetual delusion of control. I used to consider it an affectation of the next cult on this list, but I've begun to understand that it is something more. It's an illness, likely derived from some part of human nature looking to take a practical path wrestling with another born of foolishness bred in the hearts of weak men and stupid women.
### Science
> [!warning] I believe in the scientific method. But a method does not and cannot make a religion. Nor can acts of observation understand what cannot be understood.
Seemingly, and with great stupidity, the last century or more has been plagued by the de-facto replacement of g/God(s) clergy with "scientists" and "experts."
We face a disturbing reality where most, if not many, humans now worship blindly.
Science can't tell us a damn thing, it can only disprove things from within a confined perspective. This is self-evidently useful, as we need look no further than the colossal reduction of our animal condition, or from within a huge portion of humanity's concerns, to find the successes of this tight sight.
It should be self-evidently foolish to worship the self.
### Veganism
Civilization has allowed many humans to become so deeply and profoundly weak they have forgotten the reality of how we became strong.
Life and death is a cycle. The denial of this reality is one of humanity's oldest enemies. A perpetually reoccurring "Death Cult," where humans begin to worship a hatred of reality.
I have less concern with Vegetarianism, as it seems there are phenotypes of humanity which have adaptions/minimizations allowing this massive reduction in their overall capacity to affect agency upon the world. Though, it seems consistently to be a place from which anti-life ideas spring forth. I believe this is because the concept itself can only spring forth from civilization.
Simply put, it is the work of the Devil to trick a man into weakness out of compassion.
It should be self-evident that life must kill to live.
### Naturism
We are clearly part of nature. Those who put us outside of it are plainly Evil. Those who believe nature is kind, Good, or God, are as plainly stupid.
I spent the first few decades of my life as an Environmentalist, though then I learned more of how plainly Evil it is to subscribe to a compression. And how simple it is for [[Spyfare]] to mess with out minds if we accept any degree of simplicity.
This world we have been born to is our Garden. Ours to tend, and to care for.
Worshipping it directly is another of our oldest enemies born a new.
It should be self-evident that we are of nature.
# Gnosticism
Worship of the self, is plainly stupid.
